We are proud to announce Lindsey Segrest as UMMC’s 2025 DAISY Nurse Leader. Selected from a distinguished group of 30 nominees, Lindsey's nomination was reviewed by an external panel of judges who recognized her exceptional leadership, dedication, and impact.
Lindsey has been a valued member of the UMMC family for 19 years, with the last 7 years spent serving as an outstanding leader. She was nominated by her nurse manager, Gordon Gartrell, who describes her as:
“A true asset to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, consistently serving the critically ill and injured children of Mississippi in various clinical, quality, and leadership capacities. She is one of the most knowledgeable and technically proficient nurses in the PICU, providing consistent feedback and overseeing the exemplary care our patients receive, as reflected in our Beacon status and CMS metrics.”
