My 96-year-old father was brought to OSF St Anthony ED on Easter Monday. He had a lengthy stay in the ED. Physicians determined my father had a slight stroke. He was moved to Neuro Intensive Care for a couple of days, then to 4 West. Having had contact with a number of staff members during my father's stay, I have to say that one RN was exemplary above all others.

For the first four days on 4 West, my father was fortunate to be in the care of a nurse named Lindsey. Lindsey not only won over the confidence of my father but was also well regarded by each of our family. My parents had nine children, six of us in the area, and shared time with our parents at the hospital. Lindsey took an interest in each of us and our family dynamics. She was as therapeutic to the entire family as she was to my father. My father responded positively to Lindsey, like none of his other caretakers. I'm not certain how to put into words how much she meant to our family, and more so to my father. She exceeds exceptionalism in our view. What an absolutely wonderful person and care provider. She is definitely an asset to the nursing profession and OSF Health System.

On the day my father was being transferred to a rehab facility, we tried to ascertain Lindsey's last name, but we were denied this information. One member referred to her name as believing it to be Lindsey R.

Please thank Lindsey on behalf of my father and our entire family. Her care went beyond what she gave my father; she provided a degree of care that touched the entire family.
