I am honored to write this letter nominating my chemotherapy nurse, Lindsey Barge, for the DAISY Award. Lindsey’s unwavering dedication, compassion, and expertise have made an extraordinary impact on my treatment journey and on the lives of countless others in her care.

Undergoing chemotherapy is a daunting experience, but Lindsey’s presence transforms it into a manageable and even uplifting process. From the moment I met her, she exuded warmth and professionalism, creating an environment of trust and reassurance. Lindsey takes the time to listen, explain, and connect on a personal level, ensuring that her patients feel cared for and supported.

Lindsey’s clinical skills are exceptional, but it is her empathy and servant's heart that truly set her apart. She has an innate ability to sense when I need encouragement, a listening ear, or simply a moment of kindness. During difficult treatments, her thoughtful words and calming demeanor have provided the strength and comfort I needed to push forward.

What truly makes Lindsey deserving of the DAISY Award is her ability to make each patient feel valued and cared for as an individual. She remembers the little details – like my wife’s name or a story I shared about my family – and uses them to create a genuine and personal connection. Her warmth and attentiveness have a ripple effect, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere for all of us undergoing treatment.

I cannot thank Lindsey enough for the care, comfort, and hope she has provided during one of the most challenging times in my life. She is a shining example of what it means to go above and beyond in patient care. She exemplifies the mission and values of SSM Health, and her exceptional contributions deserve recognition.
