She was caring for a patient in the CCU who was critically ill with a wife and young children. The patient required very complex nursing care. Lindsey ensured clinical excellence by managing the various critical-care aspects of his care. In addition, she connected with him, his wife, and two young boys who would plan frequent visits to ensure the family could be together. The family was deeply moved by the compassion and extraordinary clinical care Lindsey provided. The family shared this with tour Chief Nursing Officer during nurse leader rounds.
Lindsey was caring for a patient in the CVICU one afternoon who was to be discharged the next day. Lindsey realized it would be a weekend discharge, which can be lengthy and often delayed without prior planning. Lindsey organized all levels of care and discharge orders, and had everything ready for the discharge the next day. She did this while managing two busy patients and supporting her team with their work on the unit.
One afternoon, a patient with a complex spinal drain was admitted to the CCU. Lindsey is competent in caring for patients with this device. She made time to educate the team that was on that day, provided support to the patient and nurse, and put together some tools to help in the development of the program. She also reached out to subject matter experts and presented her work to the leadership team to be implemented to ensure clinical excellence for these patients.

She holds a professional nursing certification, is proficient in caring for open-heart devices and ECMO patients, serves as a Charge Nurse, and supports two units.
