She has worked very hard to ensure that the staff and patients at the Behavioral Health & Wellness Center continue to be safe, no matter what they encounter.
As leader of the Infection Prevention team, Lindsay has learned that not every day will be the same, and you must always stay on top of your game to respond to the ever-changing problems we encounter.
With the opening of the Behavioral Health & Wellness Center, Lindsay has used her expertise in a new way. She has assisted with multiple walkthroughs prior to the building opening, trying to understand how spaces will be utilized and how to set the areas and staff workload regarding infection control. She used this information to make changes to laundering processes, food services, and hand hygiene needs.
She also helped her entire Infection Prevention team do a specific orientation for the staff in the building to teach them what they may encounter and how they can keep themselves and their patients safe from acquiring illnesses.
Lindsay continues to be present in the building as much as she can, working with Rehab, EVS, and Facilities to work through any new infection control processes that may come up. She has answered many phone calls, even in the middle of the night, to assist the staff with potential exposure concerns or just talk through their processes to help them adapt. Despite not being the IP on call, she continues to answer late-night and weekend phone calls because she knows how important her collaboration with this team is.
Lindsay’s leadership and willingness to assist in any way that is part of her role have led to her using all the ICARE values. She has worked very hard to ensure that the staff and patients at the Behavioral Health & Wellness Center continue to be safe, no matter what they encounter.
