I would like to nominate Lindsay Ross for the DAISY Award in recognition of her extraordinary commitment to nursing values: Compassion, Courage, and Integrity. Lindsay consistently demonstrates excellence in patient care and promotes a collaborative and supportive environment for her colleagues.

During a recent shift when we were short-staffed, I witnessed Lindsay step in as a sitter for a patient with dementia. She dedicated two hours to reading the Bible to this patient to help calm her. This showcased her remarkable ability to connect with her on a deep, meaningful level. Lindsay didn't just sit passively; she engaged the patient in ways that were both respectful and uplifting. She took the patient on walks, reorganized her closet, and changed her linens multiple times, all while maintaining patience and genuine warmth. It was truly heartwarming to see how Lindsay met the patient where she was cognitively, providing comfort and companionship in a challenging situation.

In addition to her exceptional patient care, Lindsay handles one of the most demanding roles on our unit as an RRN. She tirelessly ensures that all nurses receive their breaks and is always there to assist with various tasks. Her dedication to her team is evident; she goes above and beyond to support her colleagues, fostering an environment of teamwork and collaboration. Lindsay consistently demonstrates a remarkable commitment to her colleagues and patients. She is often one of the first responders to codes, stepping up with confidence and efficiency. Lindsay is also actively involved in committees and shared governance, where she shares her expertise and insights to enhance our nursing practice. She never shies away from challenges and consistently offers her helping hand.

Lindsay Ross exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding nurse. Her extraordinary compassion, courage to face challenges, and integrity make her an asset to our unit and deserving of the DAISY Award.
