One of your nurses, Lindsay Buchanan, went above and beyond today with one of our patients. The doctor and his PA wanted me to reach out and let you know that we appreciate what she did.

He has a feeding tube, and as we all know, they can be a pain with leaking, and some nurses shy away from messing with them, but the patient got a hole in his tubing and really didn’t want to go back to the ER. With instruction from our providers, Lindsay was willing to go back out to the patient’s house and cut the tube below the hole and reattach the connector.

She sent a picture showing it works, and this saved the patient from having to go to the ER or going without nutrition and medication today until he was at the hospital for another procedure tomorrow, which she could have easily done. We just wanted to acknowledge her, as she is an example of the type of nurse we need in the field, working with our patients.
