Lindie Hunter, LPN

Lindie Hunter got a report on a young woman who was 4 weeks postpartum with multiple surgical issues. The woman had had her 3 toddlers, her 4-week-old baby, and the father at her bedside since her admission. Unfortunately, this family did not have much support and had no transportation to get home while the mom was being cared for. Lindie quickly took report and then jumped into action, coordinating with multiple staff members on how she could buy items and food to support this family during the hospital stay. Lindie and the unit secretary strategically planned what the family would benefit from for the next week, including: shoes, clothes, diapers, food, and meal vouchers. They even got a duffle bag for them to store their new wares.

Lindie helped the dad coordinate showering and cleaning up the three toddlers as well as himself, all while she was managing a 6-patient team on the unit. The second day Lindie had this family, she came with a huge tote bag of snacks and food for the kids. She also styled the little girl’s hair. Lindie took this all in stride and seemed unfazed at the task of going the extra mile for this family while she was also managing her patient load. Her big-hearted actions are infectious, and it was so refreshing to see the joy in the kids' faces as well as the stress melt off the father's face. Lindie is a great asset to 3 Towers and the whole hospital, and I just want to make sure she is appreciated for all her hard work!
