She made my stay something to be remembered for a long time.
I had a TAVR heart valve replacement in July of 2024, and Lillian was my very special Cardiac ICU nurse for 2 days. She made my stay something to be remembered for a long time. I am a 35+ year patient of the Adventist Hospital system and the Damascus Clinic. I have always received excellent service and care, and not once do I remember receiving poor or grumpy service!
I am a professional and a businessman. I am never impressed by poor or unqualified service or work. I never use flattery, because it is cheap and insincere. But I do believe and practice giving praise and honest compliments where they are deserved. I want to honor Lillian and nominate her for the DAISY award for the following reasons.
She is professional and prompt in her response when called. She follows through with every task requested and always shows up with a warm, friendly smile. She always asks, "How can I help you?" And her answer is always, "Of course!" She anticipates needs and often cares for a matter before a request is needed, and she is thorough.
An example is when she processed my check-out. She noted verbally and on paper each of my regular and temporary medications, taken at home, at the hospital, and to be taken at home. No one has ever done that for me before! Her final act of kindness today was after she had completed my hospital check-out. I noticed that I felt pressure when I bent forward to put on my shoes and socks. So she kindly removed my hospital socks and put my socks and shoes on my feet for me. I call that the extra mile of kindness!
Lillian is an expert, professional Cardiac ICU Nurse. She has worked in multiple states and hospitals as a Travel Nurse, supplying good staffing at hospitals where her expertise was needed at a critical time. Several other staff commented on her proficiency with the Cardiac ICU when they noted my appreciation for her work.
