She recognized my emotions, comforted me, and assured me that I had everything I needed to take on the challenge of a 2nd child.
During the birth of our son, we had an overall positive experience at Parkview. The nurses were all fantastic! However, Lili really stood out above them all! She came on duty a couple of hours before I delivered our son and helped me through delivery, postpartum care, and nursing.
Shortly before it was time to start pushing, I had an emotional moment, thinking through how life would change very shortly as we welcomed our second son into the world. I was a little overwhelmed and started tearing up. I didn't have to explain my feelings - Lili just got it. She recognized my emotions, comforted me, and assured me that I had everything I needed to take on the challenge of a 2nd child. She gave me great confidence in a moment of weakness.
Our son was slow to start nursing, which is slightly defeating and concerning as a parent. Thank God for Lili, who is a board-certified lactation consultant - it was meant to be that I was assigned as her patient! She patiently worked with our son and me, determined to get breastfeeding off to a good start. She was instructive, supportive, and gave us confidence when we left the hospital and were on our own.
She has an upbeat attitude, a genuine caring nature, and made me feel comfortable asking questions and for help when needed. If not for her, I truly believe I would have had milk supply issues, and breastfeeding my son might not have been possible.
We were fortunate enough to share similar interests in hobbies with Lili as well! This made us feel even more connected to her as we shared our favorite travel spots and memories. Her nurse badge reel says "Help is on the way!" from Mrs. Doubtfire, and that is spot on! We are grateful and blessed to have had Lili as our nurse, and I wish for every birthing mom to have a similar experience!
