When it was time to walk to Prentice for my surgery, she came with me and stayed by my side.
Laila has been the nurse assigned to my fertility case since this summer. Since then, I have been through many treatments to prepare for frozen embryo transfers. My first transfer that Laila supported me through failed. My second attempt required a lot of back and forth and monitoring - emails every day - but was cancelled due to my body not responding to medication. The 3rd attempt was the most stressful. Increased meds and monitoring, messages daily, and emotional support. When I had a positive beta, Laila was so excited and supportive. But with monitoring, the numbers were not going in the right direction. Laila called me and messaged me the details every day. She went out of her way to provide me with as much information as possible and encouraged me to stay positive.

On the day of my 6-week ultrasounds, I learned the pregnancy was ectopic and in my fallopian tube instead of my uterus. Laila came to meet me in person while I cried through the news and decisions. She stayed with me and talked me through my options. When it was time to walk to Prentice for my surgery, she came with me and stayed by my side. She truly was my support through so many dark days. She is still on my team and helping me prepare for my next steps. I truly don’t know how I would have gotten through that day without her. She goes above and beyond. I am so grateful to have Laila on my side.
