I have witnessed his compassion for patients firsthand during clinical rotations. He is thoughtful in his approach, listens intently to patient's concerns, and with ease leaves his patients comfortable.
Levi Stenberg is extraordinary in so many ways. Levi is dedicated to helping his peers and to the nursing profession. Levi volunteers as a 3rd semester student representative for faculty meetings, assists with nursing information sessions for potential nursing students, mentors 1st semester students in the Nursing Peer Mentorship Program, and serves as a nursing program tutor.
Levi is always available to help students struggling in the program. He frequently helps students figure out how to look at content differently when studying for exams. He also takes time to explain questions his peers have. He willingly shares whatever knowledge he has and willingly gives advice on how to study or recall info to his peers. As a student, he is always positive, always willing to learn, accepts constructive feedback with an open mind, and consistently works to improve.
Levi is very bright and able to apply knowledge learned in theory to actual hospital and simulated clinical settings. He has consistently demonstrated excellent bedside manner and care. One afternoon in clinical, Levi found that no one had done the cares during the day and he felt it would help the patient feel better to have a bath, oral cares, and fresh linens. While there were nursing assistants on the unit that could have done these cares, Levi felt it important to do these cares himself because it helped him know his patient better. A patient at clinical said Levi was attentive, answered questions, and was a calming presence.

Levi is one of those nurses who positively combines nursing skills with a bedside manner others can learn from. Levi is honest, respectful, and selfless, and he explains what he is doing with the patient. He doesn't talk "to" his patients, he speaks "with" them. He also has a drive to understand nursing that is different than most. It's not about getting a high score. For him, understanding what we do is for him to provide the best care possible for others."
Levi exemplifies living a life of integrity, honesty, and genuineness. Wherever Levi winds up as a nurse throughout his career, he will shine and be a beacon of hope for those he serves.
