My father was recently hospitalized at ORMC. My sister and I had been trading off staying with him overnight. On his 4th day in the hospital, he was moved to the med/surg unit. My sister and I were tired and did not feel like we could spend another night. In walked Leslie. Her energy and enthusiasm were contagious. I felt so relieved to be able to sleep at home in my own bed at the same time knowing that he was getting wonderful care from Leslie. I told her it was like having a sister in the hospital with my dad. My dad is not the best hospital "rule follower," but Leslie did a great job keeping him safe during his stay. I wasn't sure my dad would like following the strict rules, but when I came in bright and early the next morning, he even admitted that she was wonderful and really loved and took pride in her job.
I made sure to tell her she was a rock star and even took a picture with her to share with my siblings. My family and I are so grateful for nurses like Leslie.
