My husband had emergency surgery for necrotizing fasciitis. He underwent 5 surgeries in 5 days and had sepsis. We are very grateful for the doctors, nurses, and staff that gave him excellent care. He spent the next 2 months in a nursing home that wasn't changing his wound every day as directed.
We got ahold of his primary care doctor and were allowed Carle Home Health Care. His therapists visited 2 times a week and worked patiently with him; they were great. His aid was very warm and gentle. All of his RN 's were great, but our favorite was Leilani, as we had grown a close bond with her. She gave him exceptional care, always called us and let us know when she would be coming and that was usually the night before. She always checked on his medication and pain levels.
We had a lot of problems with his catheter and Leilani showed me how to flush that and when to call if I had any problems. Any questions we had she either answered or gave us a number to find out the answer. She was there for the long haul and always with a smile on her face and eager to see how much smaller his wound was. When our insurance was going to cancel our visits, she went the extra mile to keep our care. We can't thank her enough for her care, her professionalism, and her friendship.
