Shekia noticed a subtle change in her patient’s neuro exam and that he was having a headache. She was concerned for possible re-bleed and quickly escalated this concern to the covering providers and requested a CT head.

The CT was ordered, and the patient had expansion of his ICH and was taken emergently to the OR.

Thanks to her assessment, communication, and close attention to detail, the bleeding was addressed in a timely manner, and hopefully this will have an impact on the patient’s functional status and outcome.
