Since being in the Unit with two fractured legs, the need for blood draws and medication input, my arms have blown quite a few veins during this time, and made it challenging for all of the nurses. Leah stepped up after another nurse requested assistance with a kind disposition and consistently kept both the nurse who requested assistance and the patient, who needed the procedure, comfortable and confident in the action at hand. Leah carefully assessed both arms, just as a surgeon would, while finally spotting the perfect vein and making the most pain-free intravenous action in one fell swoop. It should have been videotaped for future learning materials. This nurse's pros: 1. Personal attitude upon entry. 2. Connecting conversation. 3. Professional assessment of the situation. 4. Has all tools ready to fulfill the request. 5. Swiftly achieved the request. 6. Cleaned the area up. 7. Asked the patient if anything above the request is needed. 8. Excellent conversation and bedside manner. Leah's actions, methods, and professionalism made my experience in what could have been a negative one nothing but top-notch! Hire more employees like her.
