March 2026 Honoree
Lauryn Rodriguez, RN
I had my C-section, and Lauryn was my nurse for my son. My son was diagnosed with severe hydrops and other abnormalities that were not compatible with life. By the grace of God, we were able to deliver my son alive and were able to meet my son, speak to him, and let him know how much we loved him. Shortly after birth, Lauryn was the nurse assigned to my son. From all the videos and pictures that I’ve seen, she showed so much care and compassion to not only me, but my son as well. She was very gentle with him. I remember her constantly listening to his heartbeat, and I remember her saying that it was fading away every time she would listen. At 11:38 AM, my son gained his angel wings. She stayed with us until the end of her shift. I remember she helped me bathe and dress him. She went along with the conversations I was having with my son and even complimented on how he looked so handsome. Lauryn took the time to make me so many mementos that I can cherish my entire life. Having her by my side gave me the comfort, knowing we were in great hands. I remember asking her if she would stay with me when I broke the news to my other kids, and without hesitation, she agreed. Lauryn showed so much compassion to my kids. There are not enough words I can say about her. She is an angel sent to help me in my darkest of times. The hug she gave me meant the world. It’s true what they say: you could never forget the nurses who made an impact on your lives, and I second that. Lauryn, I thank you 1 million times for being with me in my darkest time! I will never forget you! Keep doing what you’re doing. You are definitely in the right profession!
Thank you, Lauryn, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
