Lauryn's work reflects genuine pride in what she does. She made a difficult situation more manageable for our family, and we're grateful for the level of care she provided.
I would like to nominate Lauryn for the DAISY Award for the exceptional care she provided to my wife during the unexpected early arrival of our daughter.
My wife came to the hospital unplanned after getting a stomach bug. As a sensitive diabetic, she couldn't keep her blood sugar up, which quickly became too serious to handle at home. While in triage, she went into labor, leading to an unscheduled C-section.
Lauryn was attentive and responsive throughout the entire experience. She consistently checked on my wife's condition and made sure her needs, big and small, were met. What stood out most was how Lauryn went beyond the basics in ways that might go unnoticed but made the difference between an OK experience and an outstanding one as a patient and as their family. She paid attention to the small details and adjusted her care thoughtfully.
There were several moments where Lauryn's skill and dedication were obvious, times when she could have done the minimum and it would have been fine, but she chose to do more. Her approach was both professional and caring. Artful management of dextrose during a tumultuous night of highs and lows, along with extra slow administration of antibiotics to prevent worsening nausea, showed not only attention to what needed to be done but also how it should be done.
