I came in with stomach pain and rectal bleeding, and Laurie immediately came in and offered me a warm blanket. She sat by my bedside, talked with me, and put her hand on me to help me calm down due to my needle phobia. She came in regularly during the time I was there to check in and see if I was doing all right or needed anything. She watched my energy and allowed me to joke about my situation and really helped me to feel so comfortable. When she removed my IV before discharge, I didn't even notice, even though that is normally something that also distresses me. She talked to me and helped distract me the whole time. She is by far one of the best and most wonderful nurses I have ever had at any hospital, and I would request her again if I could. Nurses like Laurie are the reason I choose this specific hospital whenever I find myself or my loved ones in an emergency.
