The nurse Laurence was sent to our room by the reception in the hospital. At first, last month, my son had a seizure, and during the time when they were trying to take blood from my son for a lab test, my son became fuzzy because of his autism. His professionalism and his patience with my son are something that I admire. His patience with my son and how he communicates with us, calming us and talking to us, made us feel at ease. Today we went back to the hospital because my son is having chills. Unfortunately, after we arrived, my son went into a seizure once again. However, this time it was for much longer and much stressful for us, especially for me. Thanks to the quick thinking of the nurses and doctors, they managed to stabilize my son. During the time when my son’s fever was being observed, Nurse Laurence came to our room to check on us and my son. During those times, as well, we get to know him for a little while, and I’m confident that he is very passionate about his profession. He came to us and helped us navigate these stressful times; he didn’t just become a nurse, he also became a person we can rely on to ground us.
