Every concern we had was addressed with the seriousness we felt it held.
We went to the local ED with what we thought was a kidney stone, only to receive a diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer that changed our lives forever. She greeted us with kindness and concern on transfer here that first visit, and we knew we were being cared for – we were lucky to see her on second admission, and her small and large actions truly made a difference. First admission, we are overwhelmed and terrified. My husband knows all the secret things the doctors and nurses leave unspoken. He knows. She paid attention – she let me stay – she listened- answered, cared. Second admission is more of a nightmare. Serious setbacks sent us to the ER, where he was held for 3 days. Please know we understand why, because we have been there, plus we are sure Inspira was part of that problem. Anyway, Dean was developing confusion and fear. By the time we were able to get a bed, we heard what floor it was on, and we both cried. Then seeing her, who remembered us, made us cry more. Every concern we had was addressed with the seriousness we felt it held. Every question answered swiftly- every request considered, and we were never ignored or placated. She is a treasure – she deserves this award. She made a difference in what was a horrible, overwhelming, world-turned-upside-down experience for my husband. She made a difference
