She listened to all our concerns and answered what she could, then expressed honestly what she wasn't sure of and passed the information along in her chart to the doctors.
My mom was admitted to the hospital on Sunday. We started in S ICU and had several issues with conflicting information. I have been in healthcare for 30 years in Montgomery, and needless to say, I was very concerned about her care. My mom lives with my sister in Mobile now, so I did not arrive until Tuesday morning and witnessed several concerns personally. On Tuesday evening, she was transferred to the 10th floor Telemetry unit, where Lauren was her night shift nurse. We came in and explained to her that we were very confused about what was going on. She took the time to sit immediately and said, 'Well, let's look at her chart.' She listened to all our concerns and answered what she could, then expressed honestly what she wasn't sure of and passed the information along in her chart to the doctors. I believe she had six patients that night, but we felt like we were given more detailed care than we were ever given in the ICU.
My family and I went home feeling at peace about leaving that night, because Lauren was there as her nurse. The level of care she gives is everything I expected as a nurse. We truly felt she demonstrated teamwork, patient-centered care, quality, respect, and outstanding service, and saved our experience at this hospital.
