Her sensitivity, compassion, and understanding are unmatched.
In March of 2024, I had the scariest day of my life. I started my morning feeling great, but by 7:45 am, everything changed. I heard a loud buzzing in my head followed by a popping noise. I lost movement in my left arm and couldn’t walk and had terrible vertigo, and started to have projectile vomiting. My wonderful husband immediately brought me to Danbury ED. It was in the ED that I met my guardian angel, Lauren.

Lauren immediately recognized that I was in trouble. I got my CT scan, and when that was normal, she advocated for me to get an MRI. Lauren comforted me and my husband when I got the TPA. She educated and encouraged us. The TPA was a miracle! Within an hour, my symptoms resolved, and I was moved to the ICU. Lauren followed me throughout my recovery, from ED to ICU. Lauren, thank you for being my angel. You made a very scary experience much more tolerable. Your expertise, advocacy, kindness, and lovely disposition were very much appreciated. You changed my life, and I appreciate you!

Lauren is truly an exceptional nurse and mentor. This is just one of the numerous patients that she has made a lasting impression on. She is always calm and a reassuring presence to our patients, their families, and our staff. She remains composed in the most stressful situations. Her sensitivity, compassion, and understanding are unmatched. She takes control and puts everyone at ease with her knowledge, technical skill, and caring nature.

Lauren makes a positive impact on the people she comes across. Our stroke patients and stroke unit are so fortunate to have such a strong, knowledgeable, and reassuring presence who is committed to patient care. Thank you, Lauren, for who you are and what you do. Your continued commitment to excellence and advocacy for our stroke population is commendable!
