Lauren is a nurse that we have known for a little while and had taken care of my son when he was being treated outpatient. When he was admitted to LRMC, and we saw her face, we knew that he was going to be taken care of. She went above and beyond talking to him about his accident. She got to know my son on “another level.” She took the time to sit with him and really listen and try to help him through a really rough night. He had been in the hospital for 13 out of the last 20 days. That’s hard on a young man like him, and she went above and beyond helping him cope with everything. She wrote him a note that will be treasured forever. I can’t say thank you enough for her kindness. As a parent who has a child who struggles sometimes with the why of things, she helped ease his mind, and that’s one of the kindest gifts you can give a person. Lauren came to visit me on her day off and even brought me a get-well basket full of goodies bought with her own money. She is a wonderful nurse!
