August 2026 Honoree
Lauren Castelblanco, MSN, RN
I had the privilege of being cared for by Lauren during my labor and delivery, and I truly cannot say enough about the impact she had on my experience.
From the very beginning, during my first several hours in labor, Lauren made me feel completely safe and informed. She took the time to explain everything as it was happening and even prepared me for what was coming next. That level of communication made such a difference; I felt comfortable asking any question and sharing any concern, and she always responded with patience and reassurance that helped calm my nerves.
When her shift ended, I honestly found myself hoping I’d still be in labor when she returned the next day, just so I could have her by my side again. Sure enough, I was, and I’m so grateful for that.
During my active labor, she coached me through every moment with such elegance, confidence, and compassion. She was my biggest cheerleader, and it’s so clear how much she genuinely loves what she does. After three hours of pushing and even with a fever, I felt supported every step of the way.
In fact, shortly after delivering my daughter, when my husband jokingly asked if I’d do it again, I said “yes” without hesitation. That speaks volumes about how positive and empowering Lauren made my experience.
I truly believe that if every woman had a nurse like Lauren, labor wouldn’t feel nearly as intimidating. I am so incredibly thankful for her care, and I feel blessed that she was part of such an important moment in my life.
Thank you, Lauren, for everything you do. You made my experience beautiful, and I will never forget my experience or you.
Thank you, Lauren, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
