Laurie was nominated by a staff member for her efforts to support staff in caring for a patient with complex behavioral needs. Laurie spent time with the patient daily, forming a trusting relationship by having coffee with her, shampooing her hair and listening to music, among other activities. According to the nomination, Laurie’s impact helped the patient improve her overall health and well-being, follow the treatment plan, and engage in her own care:
