During my stay, I struggled to maintain my blood sugar, and my body was in crisis due to high cortisol levels and stress. I was in and out of consciousness and unaware of most of what was going on around me. I was unable to urinate, eat, drink, or communicate.
A nurse recognized immediately that something was wrong and went directly to the supervisor for assistance. Laura stepped in, spoke to the doctor, and helped support her with my care. They monitored me very closely, and when I began showing symptoms that I was in trouble, she was right there. They took the time to make sure I felt safe and to care for me when I couldn't care for myself.
Thank you for your compassion. Laura held my hand when I was scared because I knew something was wrong and honestly thought I was going to die. She continued to check on me throughout my stay to make sure I was ok. If it wasn't for these nurses and the supervisor, I honestly do not think I would have gotten out of the hospital alive.
Thank you, all of you.
