Laura has worked in the Lipson center for a few years now helping patients to navigate their complicated oral chemotherapy schedules, providing education, helping patients to prepare for their treatments, and taking calls from patients. Her patients all know her by name and call her because they find comfort in knowing she is there for them, knowing that she will take the time to listen and seek answers to best help them. Patients are constantly stating that she is their angel and telling us how kind and compassionate she is even at their worst moments. Just today, we overheard a patient telling one of the patient care techs how wonderful she was in addressing their concerns the day prior (both this patient and her husband have cancer and are going through a lot, so they appreciated that she took the time to dive in and help them). She provides such comfort, especially to those anxious, scared patients who need some additional support. She has stayed late with providers to ensure their patients have any education they might need even when she does not need to. She has followed up with patients of other nurses just to help provide consistency and reassurance to the patients. She never complains, and she never says anything bad. She is always so supportive and a joy to work with. If anyone in this center deserves this, I truly believe she is the most deserving and has grown so much in the short number of years she has worked here!
