With over 10 years of nursing experience, she approaches every patient encounter with kindness, patience, and genuine empathy. Her calm presence and clinical expertise bring comfort to patients and confidence to her colleagues. Laura's positive energy is contagious; she uplifts those around her and creates an environment of teamwork and trust on the Vascular Access team.
What makes Laura truly remarkable is her ability to blend her passion for nursing with her love of music. As a talented harpist, Laura often shares her gift to bring moments of peace and reflection to patients and staff. She has volunteered on her off days and played the harp for patients and also has dogs that she brings to the hospital for our patients. Most recently, she founded our hospital's first Nurses' choir, an inspiring project that brought nurses from across different departments together for our annual Nursing Awards Ceremony. Under her direction, the choir performed beautifully, reminding everyone of the healing power of connection and creativity within our profession.
Through this initiative, Laura has strengthened the sense of community among nurses and encouraged others to express themselves beyond the bedside. She continues to grow and lead the choir with dedication and joy, planning to expand its presence at future hospital events. Laura exemplifies what it means to be a DAISY Nurse; she is compassionate, skilled, innovative, and wholeheartedly devoted to the art and science of nursing. Her care extends beyond her patients to her colleagues, her team, and the spirit of the profession itself.
