Ijani is the epitome of excellence and professionalism with an empathetic awareness that is exemplary.
The first day Latifa walked into my room, she brought a completely different elevated nursing experience. She immediately sees that I look uncomfortable in the bed and begins to adjust the bed to easily get me into a position that is comfortable. I felt so appreciative and knew any time with her would be a good day, and it was. She didn't rush me, but talked to me about things to do to help control my sugar. Mostly, she made me feel that she really cared and that she would be there if I needed her. She learned my face and knew when something was bothering me. She always offered a solution. Lastly, the smile, laughs, and character of this woman are a testimony that she was born to do this. She goes beyond to make a patient feel better.

Ijani is the epitome of excellence and professionalism with an empathetic awareness that is exemplary. My wife's post-ACDF operation recuperation in Ijani's section was quite comforting. Ijani used empathetic listening and humor to ease my wife's physically painful three days and two nights in the Gulden Section at Northwell Health South Shore University Hospital. We could tell that Ijani's caring cordiality was authentic. She always went the extra mile to ensure comfort. "It's my pleasure" seemed to be her favorite response and modus operandi. Her unit was quite busy and overwhelmed with patients, but you would not know it due to her bedside manner. She deserves high honor for her professional diligence performed with such care and intelligence. She's quite amazing indeed.

I had the pleasure of meeting Latifa on my last day at the hospital. She was so attentive and present! She answered all my questions and educated me further on things not to do and things to do! She made me comfortable, and the compassion she showed was unmatched. She taught me how to get in and out of bed properly after my abdominal surgery. No offense to the other nurses, but the time she took and the effort she put in to make sure I was comfortable was like no one else that cared for me. This hospital is very lucky to have a nurse like Ms. Latifa! She’s a keeper for sure!
