Larissa was swift in identifying the hemorrhage, playing a critical role in the positive outcome of this case.
Larissa has assisted me with two very critical obstetric patients and was a critical member of our team.

She was managing a patient in active labor for the first time who originally had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery. Shortly after delivery, she experienced profound uterine atony and had a significant postpartum hemorrhage. The situation escalated very quickly, requiring a large amount of product replacement, anesthesia team involvement for blood pressure support, and medication administration for uterine atony.

Larissa was swift in identifying the hemorrhage, playing a critical role in the positive outcome of this case. She kept the patient and her partner aware of all interventions that were required. She appropriately called for support from her charge nurse and other team members and activated the appropriate MD response. Larissa has also been instrumental in the care of another critically ill obstetric patient.

She was providing oversight for an obstetric patient in the medical ICU who was undergoing treatment for newly diagnosed AML. This patient was only 24 weeks of gestation, making fetal monitoring challenging with a patient suffering from baseline severe pain due to an AML diagnosis. She kept the MD team abreast of all changes in the patient's status and notified us immediately when the characterization of the patient's pain changed.

She has continually advocated for her patients and provides acute interventions when appropriate. She is a pleasure to work with and provides above-and-beyond care for our patients.
