Lanna is a true leader who leads from the front. Tough tasks are never "below her paygrade".
Lanna has worked at Rusk State Hospital for 4 years. During this time Lanna has promoted up through the ranks due to her excellent work ethic, positive attitude, and leadership skills. She is currently a House Supervisor. She is always one to step in and help when needed. She makes rounds several times a shift to all the units to ensure her patients and staff are doing well.
One day while passing through the geriatric San Jacinto Unit to check on the patients and nursing staff, she came across a struggling Psychiatric Nursing Assistant. The staff was attempting to bathe a patient who had soiled themselves and were resisting being cleaned. Sometimes working with a psychiatric population can make even the simplest of activities become challenging at times, which would otherwise be fairly easy in a nursing setting. It was a dirty job, to say the least. Lanna rolled up her sleeves, grabbed the showerhead, soap, and towels, and headed to the shower room. She was then able to calm the patient and get them clean and dressed before resuming her normal duties. She didn't have to do that. She could have just instructed another nurse assistant to complete this task, but she didn't. She leads by example. Lanna is a true leader who leads from the front. Tough tasks are never "below her paygrade". It is little instances like these which make Lanna Peace stand out from the crowd, always willing to jump in and help, regardless of her work area or job title.
