Because of you, she was able to fight for her life, believe in the healthcare system again, and make progress in her recovery.
I really want to thank Lani for being an outstanding nurse and for leading by example in what an exemplary nurse looks like!
My mom was scared, nervous, and wanted to leave as soon as she got here due to many past traumatic experiences throughout her life, along with past traumatic experiences in several healthcare settings. She had her mind set on wanting to go home as soon as she got here, and I really thought I was going to be flying here from Oregon, only to see her die from her illness due to giving up.
I really want to thank you for being the nurse that you are, as you have been a huge part of her having hope and continuing to fight for her life. I was astounded while watching your interactions with her. You clearly do everything while providing trauma-informed care, which had a huge positive impact on my mom’s recovery.
Thank you for your consistency in providing care to my mom. You treated her like a human being, you cared about her, and you are very knowledgeable in the work you are doing as a nurse. Seeing that allowed my mom to feel safe, and it helped me not feel as scared about the care she would be receiving.
Thank you for your professionalism, while at the same time, being personable with her and making sure her needs were being met. You listened to her and were very thoughtful with every interaction you had with her. You gave her a heads-up with everything you were going to be doing with her, and I can clearly see that you take pride in the job you are doing with your patients.
As you worked with my mom, I could see that her tension reduced, and she trusted you. Because of you, she was able to fight for her life, believe in the healthcare system again, and make progress in her recovery.
You are on top of the work you are doing with your patients, and I thank you for that. You are the definition of excellence when it comes to being a nurse. I can clearly see that the people you work with believe in you, too.
Your consistency in showing up, being present, caring, listening, doing your job well, being gentle, holding hope, and being you made a positive difference in my mom’s recovery. Because of that, my mom was able to continue fighting for her life.
My heart melted every time I saw her, so excited to see you. I have never seen my mom look so forward to seeing any kind of healthcare provider. You are truly a gem.
Thank you.
