With all the chaos that was going on, she stayed calm and showed me compassion.
I came by ambulance to the hospital, so I was already scared and confused about what was going on. The ER was extremely busy, not an empty room in sight. I was taken to the back room and was immediately met by the sweetest nurse ever. I know she had multiple patients, but she made me feel like I had her complete attention. She took her time and never rushed me, and answered all my questions without hesitation; even if I asked it 5 times, she answered it 5 times, still being so calm and showing so much compassion because she knew I was scared. I hadn't eaten all day, and it was already 8:00 at night, and she went and found me something to eat without me having to ask her. Just her calm voice made me feel at ease.

My sisters were with me, and she even checked on them to make sure they were okay. She talked to me as a person, not just as a patient. If she didn't have the answer to any of my questions, she went and found the answer and explained it to me so I would understand what was happening. Even when it was her time to leave, she made sure I was okay and made sure all my questions were answered. Never, not the first time, did she overlook any of my concerns. She made sure my sisters knew what was going on, too. With all the chaos that was going on, she stayed calm and showed me compassion. You don't see a lot of nurses like this young lady. I was lucky enough to have her as my nurse.
