I would like to nominate Nurse Carlo and Nurse Krystle for their exceptional compassion, dedication, and care. They have both gone above and beyond in supporting my father-in-law, S, during one of the most frightening and uncertain times in his life. S is currently facing a high-risk brain condition - a tumor that is encasing a major artery near the left internal carotid. With surgery still pending, each day is filled with anxiety and vulnerability for our family. He has difficulty speaking, often only able to say, "I love Jesus," yet he fully understands everything we say to him in Spanish. From the beginning, both Carlo and Krystle have acknowledged and honored this. They've built a deep and respectful rapport with him, speaking in Spanish (the same words he says) and showing remarkable cultural sensitivity, patience, and warmth. Their care goes beyond clinical excellence. They treat S with dignity, addressing him directly, explaining each step of care, and offering comfort not just to him, but to our entire family. They've made him feel seen, heard, and safe - even in the face of fear and medical complexity. Nurse Carlo and Nurse Krystle have shown that true nursing is not only about skill, but heart. In the way they adjust pillows, hold his hand, call him by name, and speak words of peace, they have given our family reassurance during this difficult waiting period. They carry a calm presence that eases tension in the room and a professionalism that inspires trust. We are beyond grateful for their compassion and excellence. They are more than deserving of recognition for the care they provide, not only to S, but to every patient and family who is lucky enough to be in their hands.
