Kristy was always able to answer any questions I had and was supportive throughout the whole process
My baby boy had been admitted to the NICU after being born prematurely. Kristy was one of the first nurses I had encountered at Nemours after being discharged for my C-section and every day we had her as his nurse was my favorite day. Since my surgery, I stayed in the hospital for the whole duration of his stay. She always made sure I had everything I needed without hesitation always checked in on me and was someone I could easily talk to. Which was a great comfort since all my family is back in California and I was in Florida at Nemours alone with a newborn and it was pretty overwhelming. She was always able to answer any questions I had and was supportive throughout the whole process. It was nice knowing I didn’t have to worry about anything when Kristy was his nurse because she was always on top of things. She made sure he always had a clean diaper, he was always fed on time, and did all the checkups she needed to do. When my son was admitted he had an NG feeding tube and as he got older we transitioned to bottle feeding. My son needed to drink more and more out of the bottle to be able to get discharged. Kristy helped him progress at bottle feeding more than any other nurse we had and she fed him his first full bottle. It was such an amazing experience. The last day we had her as our nurse she made sure we were on the road to discharge and answered any questions I had about the complicated process. Every day when I woke up I hoped to see Kristy’s name on the whiteboard and every day it was it was an amazing day! After a very long 3 and half weeks in the hospital my son is being discharged tomorrow and I can’t thank Kristy enough for everything she did to get us to this point.
