I am honored to recognize Kristine Antonio for the extraordinary compassion and leadership she demonstrated during one of the most vulnerable times in my life.

Following the passing of my father, Kristine immediately stepped in with genuine empathy and initiative. Without being asked, she organized support for me and my family, coordinated donations, and rallied our MSICCU and IMCU teams. In the midst of my grief, she quietly worked behind the scenes to lessen the financial and emotional burden my family was experiencing. Her actions were not for recognition — they came purely from a place of compassion.

Kristine embodies what it truly means to be a nurse. She recognizes that caring does not stop at the bedside; it extends to colleagues, families, and the entire healthcare community. During a time when I felt overwhelmed and heartbroken, her kindness brought comfort and reassurance. She reminded me that I am not alone — that we are a family.

Her leadership, empathy, and selflessness reflect the very essence of the DAISY Award. Kristine uplifts those around her, advocates for others without hesitation, and leads with a servant’s heart. She sets an example of what nursing should look like — compassionate, proactive, and deeply human.

I am forever grateful for her support. She is truly deserving of this recognition.
