Kristingoes above and beyond in her care for our patients. She has been a role model for me and I cannot tell you how much I have learned from her over these last five years. Patients loveher and will seek her out to say hello or get a hug if they are not being seen by her. She does whatever it takes to uphold the standard of excellence that our patients experience in their care. Kristin is also kind and compassionate with the familiesof our patients.

Recently, Kristin addressed a patient's needs in a holistic way during a chemotherapy teaching. She assessed his current drug and alcohol habits with realistic suggestions using a harm reduction model. She explained howa feeding tube would be needed and what this procedure would entail. She scheduled an appointment with ournutritionists as he was already below ideal body weight and would be receiving chemotherapy and radiation. Shewent over the chemotherapy in terms appropriate for his reading level. Despite this man's previous avoidanceof medical care, the patient continues to bring his medical concerns to her as they formed a therapeutic relationship during the first visit.

Kristin is truly the epitome of collaborations. Being fairly new to oncology, I often have medicine/chemotherapy questions regarding the patients I'm seeing for nutrition consults. Kristin is alwayshappy to answer any questions I have and has a way of explaining concepts that are both clear and understandable. She truly wantsto help give me a better understanding of patient medical issues and medication management. She even wentso far as to offer to set up a time to meet with me every morning to go over any questions Ihave for patientsI'm seeing that day. It's obvious she truly enjoys teaching and has an innate skill for it! Kristin is a wonderfulcolleague and I'm so blessed to work with her every week.

The termination of Harrison's contract with Regence forced a patient to seek care in Port Townsend, whichadded additional stress and travel time for a patient that was just diagnosed with cancer. Kristin went to the president of Harrison to see if an exception could be made for this patient, by allowing him to come to HMCand HHP with an in-network cost. The president and the CFO of Franciscan approved her request and generated a letter to this patient. Now this patient will only have to travel fiveminutesinstead of 30 to his chemotherapy and doctor appointments. What Kristin did also avoided delaying his treatment.

Kristin has worked in oncology as a nurse for many years followed by years of oncology experience as a nurse practitioner. She goes above and beyond for patient care, satisfaction, and safety. She is knowledgeable and takes time to teach new staff her years of experience in oncology. She brings the quality of care in our clinic to an all-timehigh. She has received many patient compliments for her compassion, dedication, and knowledge.

We deal with patientsin high emotion and high drama situations often. This leads to avoidance behavior, putting the patient off until the physician can see them. Kristin takes this in hand, always. She ispatient and kind. She talks people down. Her demeanor is a positive influence that patients appreciate. In my opinion, this is an exceptional talent and Kristin is extraordinary.
