I have been receiving treatment for cancer in this department since the fall of 2024. I come in regularly every 3 weeks for IV drug treatments for maintenance therapy. I have had many different nurses over the last year, and they are all excellent with good attitudes and skills. But Kristen Moss was especially optimistic and cheerful about offering care for me.

I have very small veins, and sometimes the nurses have trouble getting a needle in. When Kristen first worked with me, she had such a positive attitude about it and told me, " I can get a vein." I loved her positive approach, and later, we were talking, and she told me she saw that I was coming in the next day for treatment, and so she volunteered to take me as her patient that day and actually signed up for me.


When she told me that, it meant a lot to me because I felt like I was not an easy patient for them to get an IV in, and yet she volunteered and wanted to help me. After that, I asked her if there was any way I could acknowledge her care of me so she could receive a reward, and she told me about this program.
