I would like to recognize this nurse for the exceptional care she provided to my mother during a recent stay. Although she cared for my mom for only a short time, her impact was truly significant. From the moment she took over my mom’s care, she showed a strong sense of urgency, professionalism, and clear, consistent communication. She kept our family well informed about medications, updates, and any changes in my mom’s condition, which brought a great deal of comfort during a very stressful time.

What stood out most was her compassion and attentiveness. During a particularly difficult evening, my mother called me feeling confused and frightened. Although this RN may not have initially known how disoriented my mom felt, she instinctively checked on her, noticed she hadn't eaten much, and took the time to make sure she was comfortable. She offered to heat up her food, helped her get settled, and provided calm, patient support. My mom later spoke at length about how kind and helpful this nurse was in that moment, and how much it meant to her. This RN also made a point to connect not just with my mom, but with our family. She provided thorough updates whenever we arrived, made sure we had what we needed, and responded quickly when we asked for help.

No matter how busy she was, she approached every interaction with patience, kindness, and genuine care. She explained what she was doing as she did it, which eased uncertainty and built trust. My mother has been hospitalized multiple times recently, and this was the first time I heard her speak so highly of anyone. This RN’s ability to combine efficiency, knowledge, and heartfelt compassion made a lasting impression on all of us. She made my mom feel safe, respected, and truly cared for during a very vulnerable time, and our family will never forget it. Her dedication and the way she goes above and beyond for her patients truly embody the spirit of the DAISY Award.
