Kristen Wright, BSN, RN

Kristen was the nurse who was assigned to my baby when he needed his 24-hour vitals and stats taken. He unfortunately failed his CCHD pulse ox test. She was calm and made sure that he received the necessary tests to help see what the next steps were.

My son remained in the postpartum unit with my husband, and she and I happened to work multiple night shifts in a row; she answered any and all of my questions. She returned to work when we were moved to a parent's room as well and was placed back with us.

She never failed to ensure that we had what we needed, was present for doctors, and cheered me on as I pumped and figured out how to breastfeed my son. Kristen also ensured that I was getting sleep while still checking and monitoring my son for any potential respiratory issues.

We were moved to the NICU while she was not working, but she still checked on us when we went back and forth to the parents' room. Kristen had multiple days, but when she noticed our name still in the NICU, she stopped by to visit and check on our son.

Every time she would leave, she would tell us how much she loves working with our son and us, and she really wants to stop running into us here at the hospital.

She made our postpartum stay more welcoming, especially as we navigated the change from rooming with our son to being transferred to the NICU.
