Because of Krista's remarkable care, we were able to welcome our son into the world with nothing but pure joy and excitement.
I was delivering my first child via planned c-section because he was breach. I had not wanted a c-section and was quite anxious about all that it would entail. I knew from the first moment this nurse said hello that I was in good hands. I expressed my nerves and she immediately calmed them with kindness, compassion, and clear communication. Before Krista brought me into the OR, she explained, “There will be several people in the operating room to help you. It may feel a bit overwhelming, but don’t worry, I will introduce you to each person and explain why they are there.” That is exactly what she did.
By the time I was ready to receive my spinal block, I felt totally peaceful, a 180 degrees from where I had been just a couple hours before. When my husband came in after getting scrubbed in and gowned up, he instantly noticed the change in me, and it helped him relax too. Because of this nurse’s remarkable care, we were able to welcome our son into the world with nothing but pure joy and excitement. She made the best moment of our lives even better and she made the surgery a second thought for me. Our son has a very peaceful, easy-going nature and I believe that the way he was welcomed into the world has something to do with that. And this nurse had a huge part in making sure that happened. We will be forever grateful to her.
