Krista is like a mentor to all of us on the floor. She is always willing to help out, and despite being asked, she just jumps in and helps everyone figure out challenging things without making anyone feel bad or anything else. She is a role model that I look up to. I want to be a well-rounded, empathetic RN who not only excels in nursing knowledge but also has a humble, kind heart for everyone around her. Out of the many life-changing services she has provided over her time as a bedside nurse and an amazing charge nurse, I remember this particular time when I had a very critical patient and was overwhelmed by the endless number of drips I was initiating, just as all the family members showed up in the room. I answered their questions and offered support, but the patient was critical, so I couldn't put that on hold. Krista, upon her rounding, sensed the situation and jumped right in without even being asked. She started engaging with the overwhelming number of family members in the room while I was titrating the drips. She was so empathetic towards the family. She helped them walk through what was going on with the patient and helped them picture the expectations for them. She was truly a lifesaver for me that night, and many other times she has been a strong, supportive pillar in my nursing journey. I feel that we are so blessed to have such experienced nurses like her among us, whom I get to learn from, and it only makes sense to honor such nurses endlessly
