Krista went above and beyond in an attempt to help this patient and spent countless hours assisting him.
Krista Marz has spent about a month going above and beyond for a patient without much support outside his medical team. The patient had a stroke that significantly impacted their ability to be independent- vision loss and hemiplegia. He was found down at home nude, and so when he got to the hospital, he needed clothes but could not acquire any from home due to the lack of social support, so Krista went home and to Walmart to purchase the patient clothes for him to wear while in the hospital and to wear home. She also frequently visited him to check on him. Then, once the patient went home, he had a lot of increased needs, including needing someone to do his dressing change at home, which prior he was doing independently. She worked with her team to arrange for his dressing to be done at a local clinic and perform it here whenever the patient came. Most recently, over the last month, the patient lost his insurance accidentally. Krista has spoken with the patient at length seven to eight times a day, sometimes over the course of the last month, to arrange for the patient to get his insurance, get his insurance information here, and then worked on arranging for the patient to have home health set up to assist with his weekly lab draws and potentially his dressing change. She worked on this with the patient and for the patient, reaching out to all of her resources to assist the patient. Many people who work with her and her team state that it's the patient's problem, not the hospital's. Krista went above and beyond in an attempt to help this patient and spent countless hours assisting him.
