Kat is the kind of coworker everyone dreams of having. My only complaint is that she doesn’t work on my shift. Despite being a full-time night nurse, she is always willing to stay late, come in early, or cover day shifts whenever help is needed. Her dedication is unmatched. Kat is a fierce patient advocate who consistently puts her patients first. She is deeply loved and adored not only by those she cares for but also by her coworkers who are fortunate enough to work alongside her. Her compassion, teamwork, and selflessness set the standard for what nursing should be. Not long ago, Kat went above and beyond when a patient expressed the wish to be married before the birth of their baby. When unexpected complications changed the couple’s plans, Kat took the reins and made it happen. She organized and spearheaded a wedding for the patient, coming in on her day off to ensure the couple’s day was as special and meaningful as possible. What could have been a heartbreaking situation became a beautiful memory because of Kat’s kindness and determination. Kat is truly a rockstar. She deserves recognition for her unwavering commitment- not only to this organization, but to her coworkers and, most importantly, to the patients she cares for every day.
