Kirsty was assigned as a bedside sitter for a young male patient going through a very challenging time in his life. During her short time with the patient, she discovered he dreamed of becoming an electrician. Kirsty proceeded to assist the patient with filling out his FAFSA application along with an application for Hawaiian Community College.

A bystander knew this would become a life-changing moment for the patient during a time that may have felt like the lowest point in his life. At the time of his discharge, the patient wrote Kirsty a heartfelt letter, which confirmed the impact she made in his life.
