Every time Kim entered the room, she spoke softly to him and offered a gentle touch, which was reassuring to see.
My cousin recently passed away in the ICU, and Kim was the nurse who took care of him and our family during this time. Kim was very kind and accommodating to my family and me, allowing each of us to participate in the end of his journey despite the larger crowd in the ICU room in the middle of the night. I found it extremely respectful of Kim to come in, introduce herself, clarify orders, and explain her role in the process. Every time Kim entered the room, she spoke softly to him and offered a gentle touch, which was reassuring to see. I know that the role of the nurse is not easy, and the dying process takes a toll on caregivers in addition to the grieving family. I want to thank Kim for all her efforts to ease this process for us and ensure she is recognized for her selflessness. Although I only had the pleasure of meeting Kim on his final day, I was fortunate to visit my cousin earlier, and I would like to acknowledge each of the nurses caring for him during his stay in the ICU. He was well-kept, with clean hair and linens. It was clear that he was turned and positioned regularly and was very well cared for. Thank you to each team member who supported my family during this difficult time.
