Kimberley Marion may have been the best nurse I have ever had. She is incredibly kind, caring, and thorough when it comes to patient care. She has truly met her calling.

I was experiencing significant pain during my post op visit and was unable to sleep. I believe that during my whole inpatient stay, I may have slept a total of 8 hours from Wednesday afternoon to Friday night. Even on the meds supplied, my pain was so high I couldn’t focus on anything or rest.

Kim believed my pain, and she advocated for me to the doctor to try to make me as comfortable as we could get, without me even asking her to. She kept up with the doctors and followed up with me frequently to manage my pain levels and adjust my meds throughout the night, and because of her, by the end of her shift, it was the first time since I had woken up from surgery that I felt even mildly comfortable, and the last time for the rest of my stay.

When administering my meds, she wanted to make sure I understood what I was being given and would sit next to me and explain what it was I was taking if I said I was unsure, why I was taking it, and when I had questions, she always took the time to answer me, never making me feel rushed.

When seeing me struggle to walk to the bathroom, she offered to bring a commode into the room temporarily to avoid me having to walk as far at night. At night especially, it was very painful for me to move around and sit on the toilet, and though I would try to hold in my pain and keep calm, I would break down from the pain, and she would not leave my side and would comfort me until I would calm down and make sure I was okay to be alone before leaving my room. The wing was busy for my whole stay; every nurse and tech was running from room to room all day and night, but she never rushed me, never made me feel like I was a bother, and treated me with so much care and respect.

Your team is incredibly lucky to have her on staff caring for your patients.

Thank you, Kimberly, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
