Sometimes, being a mom, you need to be nurtured as you would nurture your own little one and Kim does that.
I am nominating Kim for one simple reason. She is simply the best nurse I have ever had and is truly amazing in so many ways. Kim was very attentive and compassionate. Giving birth to my baby boy did not go as planned. Sadly, he came early and mama had severe preeclampsia. Thanks to the staff, I truly had a positive experience at the UPMC L&D/Post Partum Unit with an experience that could have been not so positive.

My baby boy was in the NICU for 9 days on tubes fighting like the little champ he was. Some of those days, I didn't even get to hold my sweet boy. As a new mom, my heart was broken. Not only was I blessed to have Kim as my nurse, but she was also my baby's nurse as well at times. She was so loving and nurturing to my baby boy which made me feel at ease knowing he was in such wonderful hands. On some days, I would just sit and cry at random moments because no one truly teaches you how to get through seeing your baby on tubes, struggling to breathe. Kim would hear me, come into my room with the unit's little yummy cups of Hershey's Chocolate ice cream, and hold my hand. Sometimes, being a mom, you need to be nurtured as you would nurture your own little one and Kim does that. She supported me, empathized with me, and made me feel loved and cared for. It brings a tear to my eye just thinking of how truly blessed I was to have her in my corner during those trying times.

Kim, from the bottom of my heart, Thank You for being you and for being an exceptional nurse. My baby boy and I couldn't have made it through those trying times without you. You need to know how appreciated and wonderful you truly are.
