While Kim stayed with the patient, L notified the social work team, who responded to the situation. The team was able to get in contact with the patient's therapist and ensure the patient had a safe plan. Kim had made such a connection with the patient, so she did not leave her for the entirety of this event; she ended up staying with the patient 3-4 hours, ending with her walking her to her car.
